Goose Creek High with choral awards

The Great Smokey Mountains reverberated with music as three choirs from Goose Creek High competed at Music in the Parks last weekend.

Hosted at Dollywood, GCH's chamber choir, Sziréndal and Creekappella were singing for a shot at first place against 12 other choirs from the Southeast. Sziréndal is GCH's treble choir and Creekapella is the school's acapella choir.

For their competition performance, ensembles were allowed to sing two songs of their director's choosing.

With a score of 96.75, the chamber choir received a rating of Superior and came in second place in the AA High School Mixed Choir classification.

Additionally, Creekappella received a rating of Superior with a score of 97 and won first place in the AA High School Jazz Choir classification.

Sziréndal received a rating of Superior with a score of 97.5. Consequently, they won first place in the AA High School Women's Choir classification!

Goose Creek High's choirs brought home second, third and fourth place overall at the festival. Great job, Gators!
